Troop 95 Winter Camping Equipment List

This is a special cold-weather list to help prepare for the outdoor events this winter. Our thanks to Dr. Molica for preparing it.

Clothing

Undergarments (Illupak)

Long underwear pants & shirt (Polypropylene, not cotton)
Inner sock, (Polypropylene or silk)

Second Layer

Pants, Heavy Fleece with Nylon Shell (Snow Pants) or Wool Pants
Sweater, Wool or Fleece pullover, and/ or Vest, PolarGuard or Down
Sock, Insulating, Wool Blend, or Heavy Synthetic

Outer Layer

Parka, Heavy Shell or Lined , Water-Repellant- Gore Tex or Similar
Outer Shell pants, Nylon, Water Repellant (not necessary if using ski pants
Hand Protection: Fleece, Wool, or Down Mittens, or Gloves (Mittens are warmer.) Use polypropylene or light wool gloves as liners for extra warmth!!
Neck protection: Fleece or wool neck gaiter, or scarf
Headgear: Fleece or wool cap over head with ear warmers
Footwear: Insulated boots: Rubber soles/leather uppers or heavy hiking boot.

Miscellaneous

Sleeping Bag (Rated to at least 20 Degrees) With inside liner
Snow goggles or sunglasses
Hand/Foot Warmers
Thermometer - Mini Clip-On Type
Extra: Wool Socks, Underwear, Spare gloves
High Calorie Snacks
